Lord Merlin and I are very pleased to announce that Baroness Constanza de Mendoza, 4th Baroness of the Barony of the Cleftlands will be in attendance on Monday for the Shire’s Dessert Revel on April 30th. Baron Calum MacDhaibhidh might be in attendance, work permitting.

Please come, and help welcome the new Baroness to the Shire and show her the gracious hospitality that the Shire of Eastwatch has to offer.

Due to Lord Merlin being considerably under the weather, he has asked me to post a friendly reminder that we will be having a Dessert Revel this coming Monday, April 30th at the VFW Hall in Fairport, 7pm.

Garb is encouraged. Please bring a tasty dessert to share…. keeping in mind that there are those who have dietary restrictions such as being Diabetic, or Lactose intolerant.

If you have a favorite period game you would like to share or a dance you would like to demonstrate we would love to have you as well!!!

Lord Merlin has asked me to let everyone know that tonight’s meeting has been cancelled. He has also asked me to remind everyone that we will be having a Dessert Revel next Monday the 30th, garb is encouraged! Please bring a dessert to share, please keep in mind some that member’s of our Shire are Diabetic along with possibly any visitors as well.

• The “Summer Challenge” was cancelled on March 26th, by a vote of the Officers and Populace. The Kingdom Calendar has been notified of the cancellation.
• We are currently looking for Bids for the “Harvest Festival & Games”. We are looking at 2 possible dates for the event – October 12-13-14 or October 19-20-21. The Bids for this event must be submitted by no later than Monday, June 11, 2012
• At the meeting on March 26th, our Exchequer informed us that she will be leaving the area approximately May 1, 2012; therefore we are seeking’Letters of Interest” for the position of Exchequer so that we can fill the position as quickly as possible. We will also be in need of a “Deputy Exchequer” as well.
• The Shire is also looking for and accepting “Letters of Interest” for the position of Chronicler, due to work requirements, our current Chronicler has asked to be released from the position.
• Please contact Lord Merlin or Lord Nial if you are interested in either position
• We will be putting on a Demo for the Boy Scouts on Wednesday, July 11th (Archery Trick Shooting) and on Thursday, July 12th (Rapier Fighting) from Noon til 1:00pm each day. This Demo will be held at the Shelter-house in the South Chagrin Reservation of the Metroparks. This is off of Route 91 (S.O.M. Center Road) in Solon. Please contact Lord Merlin if you can help with these 2 dates.
• We are looking for volunteers to set up a class to make Pennons, Banners, and Nelt Favors…(both Personal and Shire). Please contact Lord Merlin or Lady Feodosia if you can help out.
• There is a proposal to change the Shire Device. We are currently looking for copies of the previously proposed device change that were submitted several years ago. If you have copies of the various designs, please contact Lord Merlin so he can get copies.
• We are still looking for people to put on classes at the Shire. Please contact Lord Merlin if you have a class that you would like to teach. In addition, let us know what classes you would be interested in taking so that we can arrange for an instructor to come to the Shire to teach them.
• As of April 15th, the “Chardon Range” will be open for the first 3 Sundays of each month, the 4th Sunday of each month practice will be held at “Free Spirit Farm” *Restroom facilities are unavailable at the “Chardon Range” but Archers may use the facilities located at McDonalds.
• Monday, April 30th will be a “Dessert Revel”, garb is required….if you have a game you would like to share or a dance you would like to teach please come join us for an evening of good friends, wonderful sweets, and lots of fun!
