Ladies in a circle facing out, lords in an outer circle facing the ladies. Partners take hands, and take two steps to the lord's left, then two to the right. Repeat three times for a total of 4 left-right pairs.
Drop hands, and the lords paw the ground with the right foot (or tap the ground if you prefer), and step to the right. Then lords step to the left while turning over the left shoulder, so that you have moved to the left half a space, and are now between two ladies. Ladies then do likewise, to end up facing a new partner. The music repeats this left-right/paw the ground sequence up to four times.
